Lorna Moreno and Héctor Rosario are a married couple who are small business owners in Santurce. In this interview, they describe how their burgeoning artisanal yogurt business Viva la Fruta was destroyed by Hurricane María. In the absence of support from the government, and insurance coverage, they tell Professors Anderson and Moreno how they became actively involved and spearheaded grassroots relief and recovery efforts in some of the most remote and affected areas across the island.
Lorna and Héctor owned Viva la Fruta, a small but thriving artisanal yogurt business that was destroyed by the Hurricane. They have organized and participated in community brigades to bring relief and recovery efforts to affected areas. They have worked with non-profits such as Toldos Pa’Mi Gente and Taller Salud.
