Harold J. Toro is teaching professor of Sociology at the Keough School of Global Affairs of the University of Notre Dame. He received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley in 2007, and spent one year as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Harvard’s Weatherhead Center for International Affairs. Between 2008 and 2012 he worked as director of research for the Center for the New Economy, a think tank focusing on economic and social policy in Puerto Rico. More recently, between 2013 and 2017 he was professor of sociology at the University of New Mexico, where he was also a Senior Fellow at the Robert Wood Johnson Center for Health Policy at UNM.
