Amilcar Matos-Moreno is a PhD candidate in the School of Public Health at the University of Michigan. He is also a Puerto Rican native and has been directly involved in the recovery efforts post-Hurricane Maria.
In this conversation with Will, Amilcar speaks about an initiative that he is leading with students from the School of Public Health at the University of Michigan as well as students from Eastern Michigan University. He details the rebuilding effort underway in the small mountain town of Orocovis, where his team is working hard to help José Lopez & María Melendez rebuild their house ahead of the next hurricane season.
